STILL HERE BASKETBALL, INC.

REPORTS SUCCESSFUL EVENTS
AND DISTRIBUTES FUNDS

STILL HERE is a 501 (3)(c) charitable organization. Profits from events are used to support financially-challenged youth basketball players who require extra help to meet pay-for-pay requirements. Funds are also designated for recognized charities such as The American Cancer Society and The Kidney Foundation.

Recent fundraising included two very successful events:

• The annual Still Here Charity 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament which this year raised $4,139.75.

• The annual Still Here Charity Golf Outing which raised $3,747.50 in 2013.

Still Here Basketball, Inc. distributed, during its recent golf outing, $1,000 to the American Cancer Society (photo below showing John Takacs making the presentation to ACS’s Kristy Kalnitzky); and $1,000 to the Kidney Foundation of Medina (photo: John Takacs and Jean Holland).

Additional funds have been distributed, during the past year, to sponsor AAU athletes, teams in local tournaments such as Hoop “N’ Que, and student athletes at Buckeye. Selection of  athletes is made on the basis of financial need --- a process guided by local athletic directors.

Thank you to all who have made this possible.

CHARITABLE GOLF OUTING

RECAP

The annual STILL HERE charity golf outing was held on August 17, 2013 at Rawaiga Country Club, Seville, Ohio.

This year’s event featured a significant increase in participation with 13 groups of golfers.

This year’s championship foursome, shown here, was comprised of (l-to-r):  Bryan Mitchell, Curtis Mitchell, Glenn Mitchell, Ken Carpenter. Congratulations!

Also shown is Rob Wininger, this year’s winner of the special BOB SCHULTE SPIRIT AWARD, given to one person each event in memory of fellow basketball player, Bob Schulte, and recognizing valuable personal attributes such as hard work and energy on the basketball court; as well as good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the strength never to give up. Rob has contributed significantly to the increase of younger men participating in Still Here events and his willingness to help and include others is a tribute to an admirable spirit.

Thanks to all teams that played, all sponsors and supporters!
